Farhan Abid serves as the Financial Services Manager at Westar. Prior to joining Westar,
Farhan worked as a Research Analyst in the Residential Energy Management department at Parks Associates, and acquired significant experience in issues relating to energy efficiency in the private sector. During his time at Parks Associates, Farhan was responsible for developing new line of research products and services, providing management consulting services to clients within the Smart Grid market, and advising various clients on opportunities in the energy management market. Additionally, Farhan has also published several reports on new technologies in the energy sector and has presented his research at various conferences including CES 2010 & 2011, and at the Smart Energy Summit 2010 & 2011.
Prior to joining Parks Associates, Farhan was an Investment Analyst at StrateSphere Investments, in the firm’s healthcare practice. In this role, Farhan was responsible for sourcing deals, developing business plans, and conducting risk assessments, supported with financial and market analysis.
Farhan earned a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business in 2004. Farhan is originally from Dubai and is also fluent in Urdu and Hindi.
